Monday night on PBS, I'm joined by Rep. Xavier Becerra and ten-year-old Jersey Vargas. Just days after traveling from California to Vatican City, where she asked Pope Francis to help spare her father -- and parents all across the nation like him -- from deportation, Vargas was reunited with her parent. Vargas has just announced to me that that she will head to our nation's capital on June 16th for a week to plead the case for comprehensive immigration reform. She intends to speak directly to Republican leaders in the House who continue to stand in opposition.
In the clip below, Vargas, who wears a white handkerchief to demonstrate her commitment to this cause, makes a direct plea for everyone to support immigration reform.
